Some of the sites we all know about like Youtube, Facebook and Reverbnation are just a few platforms that help musicians get there music in-front of a new audience, but I’m pretty sure if you’ve released a few mixtapes or singles you’ve used these sites for your projects and you always get the same results and you feel like you at a standstill in your music career. The thing is you can’t do the same thing and expect different result you have to think outside the box and you have to promote yourself every time you get a chance to the music game is a numbers game and you have to get your music in-front of as many people as possible.
Well I’m going to give you a slick trick you can use to help you get your brand and music tons of exposure online by piggy backing off of other artist with a buzz that have their music, bio’s and interviews all over the internet. It’s not as bad as it sounds lol.
So what you need to do is take your top write down your top 5 favorite artist really it doesn’t have to be your favorite artist it should be 5 artist you see all over the web when you go to music blogs, music sites, Youtube etc. All you have to do is go to Google and type the artists name in the search bar one by one and look at all the results and take not of all the sites that have music, information and interviews on that artist. This is targeted promoting because you already know these sites and bloggers support independent musicians because there giving you results from the artist info you just typed in. Now all you have to do is send a personalized pitch or your epk to the DJ or writer and show them how you relate to what they do and what you have to offer. You will be shocked how many sites get thousands and thousands of visitors a day and you have never heard of them before, but I promise you that these sites can get you the exposure you need to take your career to the next level. Make sure before you contact anyone that all your graphics are professional from having attention grabbing mixtape covers, logos, flyers and of course a professional website.
